The open meet fee is a charge made in addition to the competition entry fees charged by the host club.  The purpose of the open meet fee is to cover the cost of coach passes, casual-contract coach attendance where applicable and coach expenses.  

This policy is intended to cover the guidelines for when an open meet fee will be charged and the price.  The means by which payment is collected and the guideline regarding refunds is covered in the WCSC Squad Fees Policy. The open meet fee should be communicated clearly to members when advertising any external open meet on the club’s competition calendar or hosted open meets.

Hosted open meet

WCSC open meet held at Bar End but excluding novice galas and Grand Prix.

Conditions - On WCSC competition calendar

Fee - £5

Local open meet

Within a 50 mile radius of Winchester.

Conditions - On WCSC competition calendar

Fee - £10

WCPSC

Out of region open meet

Outside of a 50 mile radius of Winchester but still in England or Wales

Conditions - On WCSC competition calendar. Minimum number of 20 entrants.

Fee - £15

WCPSC

Out of region open meet

Scotland/international or where the number of entrants for an out-of-region in England/Wales is below 20.

Conditions - To be agreed by CEO/Trustees in advance of published competition calendar.

Fee - Charge will be dependent on numbers attending but an estimate of predicted costs will be shared among all entrants to fully cover event costs.

Hampshire County Championships

HCASA Event

Conditions - None.

Fee - £6 for up to 2 events £10 for 3 or more events. Fee is applicable regardless of where the event is held in the South East Region.

South East Regional Championships

Swim England South East Events

Conditions - None.

Fee - £10. Fee is applicable regardless of where the event is held in the South East Region.

WCPSC

English, Scottish, Welsh Nationals and British Championships

British Swimming Event

Conditions - None.

Fee - No charge. Coach support will be dependent on numbers qualifying.

WCPSC

Special qualifying events

Para-swimming; Down Syndrome 

Conditions - None.

Fee - Generally not supported by coach attendance due to number attending but may be considered on an ad hoc basis.  Charges may apply depending on location. Agree with Head Coach/HOF in advance.

If any parent wishes to attend an open meet which is not on the WCSC Competition Calendar they should seek approval from their Lead Coach before entering the competition.  If the Lead Coach is in agreement that the open meet would be of benefit to the swimmer, they may enter independently and all associated costs will be borne by the member.
