Winchester City Swimming Club was proud to host its annual Inclusive Gala, a heart-warming and action-packed event that brought together 42 children from local schools including Harestock, Otterbourne, Weeke, Winnall, and the New Forest.

The gala featured a variety of races, from individual events to kick and swim relays, with a focus on participation, enjoyment, and inclusivity. The atmosphere was full of energy and encouragement, as swimmers of all abilities took to the water and gave it their all.

We were honoured to welcome some very special guests to the event: Jane Millar from Hampshire County ASA (HCASA), and the Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester, who showed their support and cheered on the swimmers from the poolside.

A huge thank you goes to our dedicated club swimmers and teachers who volunteered their time to help in the water, ensuring all participants felt supported and safe. We’re also grateful to Everyone Active for generously providing pool time to make this event possible.

Every swimmer went home with a certificate and medal - small tokens of recognition for their fantastic efforts and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Events like these highlight the power of sport to bring communities together and celebrate the joy of swimming. We’re already looking forward to welcoming even more young swimmers to next year’s gala!
