As we wrap up an extraordinary season following the Summer Nationals, it’s time to celebrate what has been the most successful year in Winchester City Swimming Club’s history.

From local meets to national finals, our swimmers have delivered phenomenal performances that reflect not just individual talent, but the strength, depth, and unity of our entire program.

National-Level Success

We are incredibly proud to have had 17 national qualifiers representing WCSC at top-tier events across the UK. Our swimmers made their mark — and brought home medals — at:

• Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships

• Swim England Summer Nationals

• Swim Wales Summer Nationals

Even more impressively, we saw athletes from three different squads qualify and compete at the national level — a powerful sign of the development pathways in place across the club.

We’d like to give a special congratulations to the following swimmers who reached the podium on the national stage:

• Iola Bellinger
  ?? Gold – 200m Breaststroke
  ?? Bronze – 100m Breaststroke (Aquatics GB Summer Championships)

• Emily Ainsworth-Fletcher
  ?? Gold – 50m Freestyle
  ?? Gold – 50m Backstroke

• Matthew Stewart
  ?? Silver – 1500m Freestyle

• Matilda Biggs
  ?? Bronze – 100m Backstroke
  ?? Bronze – 200m Backstroke

• Elliott Latham
  ?? Bronze – 200m Freestyle (Swim Wales Summer Nationals)

In addition, congratulations to our Girls 14–16 4x100m Medley Relay Team, who reached the National Final, finishing in 8th place — a fantastic team achievement and a milestone for WCSC.

More Than Just Medals

These results speak volumes about the collective strength of Winchester City Swimming Club. Our swimmers excelled across all strokes and distances — but most importantly, they supported one another every step of the way.

We are not just a club of individuals; we are a team, united in the pursuit of excellence.
