Easter Holiday Swim Course @ King's School Pool, Winchester
We are offering a swim course to be held over four consecutive days (2nd - 5th April 2012) during the first week of the Easter holidays. The course is aimed at improving stroke technique and water skills of all swimmers whatever their stage of swimming and costs £40.

Extra Saturday Sessions @ Winchester College Pool for Lessons Members
- 25th February - 1 hr breaststroke clinic for lessons children in stages 3 to 8.
2 sessions, 5:30-6:30pm or 6:30-7:30pm.
- 3rd March - diving session for lessons children.
2 sessions, 5:30-6:30pm for complete beginners and 6:30-7:30pm for those wanting to improve.

Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club runs a successful term-time Learn to Swim programme which provides a great opportunity for children to develop water confidence and swimming skills.
Lessons are available for children aged 4 years and above. Our structured teaching programme follows the ASA’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming. Children are assessed on their ability at the end of each term for progression on to the next level. Achievement is rewarded through the ASA awards scheme.
The programme is managed by Sarah Standen together with a team of dedicated swimming teachers. They are ably assisted by some of our current senior swimmers who have competed at County level and above.
All children entering our lessons programme become members of Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club. The club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association and therefore the children will also be members of the ASA - this membership will subsidised and incur an annual fee of £10.00.
A free swim hat is provided to every child when they first enrol with us. Subsequent swim hats are available to purchase from our club shop.

Lesson Prices - Spring Term 2012
- 1/2 hour group lesson prices - £7.20 x 11 weeks = £79.20
- 1 hour group lesson prices - £10.00 x 11 weeks = £110.00
- In addition, there is an annual membership / ASA fee of £10.00
- A discount is offered to the third and subsequent child/children for the same family. The 3rd family swimming member pays 65%, 4th family swimming member pays 33%
Please note that there are no refunds for missed sessions unless those sessions are cancelled by WCPSC. There is no discount offered for children booking a second weekly lesson. Any bank charges incurred as a result of a returned cheque will be passed on to the individual concerned.
Lesson Enrolment
Our lessons are always very popular, and in order for you to express an interest in enroling, please complete the following online form. (if you would prefer, download the paper equivalent!) We will contact you if a place is available and it will be reserved for 7 days - time enough for you to send payment (cheque made payable to WCPSC), along with a completed medical questionnaire to the following address: Mrs S Price, Chilland Rise, Itchen Abbas, Winchester, SO21 1AS
Swimmers re-enroling will have a place in a lesson reserved for them until 11th December 2011. Payment must be received by 11th December to confirm the place. After this date new applications will be processed.
Advanced Classes
- Swimmers in advanced classes work on both improving stroke technique and building stamina. Swimmers are given the opportunity to be assessed for their bronze, silver, gold and honours awards
- The classes are ideal for those hoping to progress into a competitive squad, but are also suitable for those wishing to maintain fitness and improve their swimming
1 -2 - 1 lessons
- A limited number of 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 lessons are available on Sunday afternoons. For further information please contact Sarah Standen by email juniors@wcpsc.org
