Joining, Membership and ASA Registration
Can you swim all four competitive strokes? Then you may be ready to join Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club. If you are unsure - read the club entry levels.
Turn up for a free taster session on a Saturday at Winchester's River Park Leisure Centre from 8.00am - 9.00am. To find out more contact Jenny Beckett via email - jenny.21@tiscali.co.uk. Please note the taster /trial session for Saturday 20th March has been cancelled.
If you like it, we offer a no obligation four week trial membership of the club for a fee of £20.50. The trial membership starts from the date of your first full training session and the £20.50 payment includes Category 1 asa registration. For more information on how to pay visit the Payment Procedure section, below.
To swim with the WCPSC squads you must become a member of the club. This involves a one-off joining fee per swimmer (£20.50), annual membership which varies according to the number of members in a family and a monthly swimming fee, which varies according to the squad.
Current Annual Membership Fees are:
- 1 swimming family member £42
- 2 swimming family members £58
- 3 swimming family members £67
- Any additional swimming member £10
- Student member (University) £16
Parent membership can be acquired through completion of an ASA category 3 registration form. This will entitle you to vote at the AGM on behalf of your child/children who are under 16 years of age and ensures that you are insured should you assist the club in any capacity.
Current Monthly Squad Fees are:
- Flippers £33
- Otters £38
- Seals £44
- Dolphins £35
- Kings 1 £48
- Kings 2 £40
- Masters £38
- Royals £19
These monthly fees apply to 1st and 2nd swimming members of the same family, the 3rd family swimming member pays 66%, 4th family swimming member pays 33%
For new members joining the club between:
- 1st January and 31st March - the full Annual Membership fee, detailed above, is due
- 1st April and 30th June - fees are 75% of the Annual Membership fee
- 1st July and 30th September - fees are 50% of the Annual Membership fee
- The trial swimming payment of £20.50 includes Category 1 asa registration - payable by cheque to WCPSC. This payment must be received within the first 3 sessions that the swimmer attends. Payment should be returned together with a completed application form, medical questionnaire, photo consent form and asa registration form to:

Account Number 51082736The standing order must be set up prior to the end of the 1st month's trial period. Failure to do so will prevent the swimmer from participating in all club activities and more importantly, the swimmer will not be covered by the clubs' insurance. It should be noted that training fees are payable in advance.
